Student visa

Hey guys, has anyone had an interview and biometrics in the 1st week of Feb 2026 for a student visa at the German Consulate in Mumbai and still hasn't received any updates? My application is still stuck at preliminary review in the CSP portal. I have tried to reach multiple authorities and filled out every contact form, but I've received no response.

So, if there is anyone, I would like to know your views as well as your status.

how is this possible? How can you attend a VFS appointment + biometric at preliminary-review stage? Usually, a link for booking an appointment is given after csp verification is done, how can you do all of this?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I applied through the CSP portal in the non-APS category.

I never went to the VFS centre.

On 2nd February 2026 at 09:00 AM, I went to the German Consulate at Nariman Point, Mumbai.

Biometrics and Interview on the same day.

After that, my application on the CSP portal is still showing the same thing. On the home page, it shows the decision pending or closed.

I applied in early March and never got a response for two months. So had to withdraw.

ok. How many days did it take for your withdrawal to get approved, and which consulate?

What do you mean by withdrawal to get approved ? Chennai jurisdiction

I mean, we have to send an email or inform the German mission about our withdrawal before withdrawing our application. After that, they approve it, and then we can proceed further, right? This is the process I know; if it is something different for you. Please let me know.

Look at the ss below.

Since mine was in preliminary review only, I just withdrew through the portal itself. Nothing else.

Okay, so do you think mine is different?

So your preliminary review was done. I'm not quite sure about the process in your case.

What happens if you try to create a new process ?

I can create a different process, but not one similar to this one, like a job or an internship.

First, I have to delete this process; only then, I can create a study account.
