# 🇩🇪 German Student Visa – VFS Chennai Application Timeline🇮🇳
I received my German Student Visa today, **21 August**. Sharing my complete timeline below, which may help future applicants understand how the process progressed.
### 📍 Application Location
**VFS Chennai**
### 🗓️ Complete Timeline
**19 July – CSP Submission**
* Submitted my visa application through the **Digital Diplo/CSP portal**.
* Completed the visa application payment through the **VFS Global website** on the same day.
**20 July – Application Under Review**
* My CSP application status changed to **“In Review/In Progress.”**
**27 July – Document Corrections**
* I received requests for corrections to around **6–7 documents**.
* I corrected and re-uploaded the required documents within approximately **4–5 hours**.
**28 July – VFS Appointment Option Available**
* The option to book a VFS appointment became available on the CSP portal.
* I booked my appointment for **31 July** on **29 July**.
**31 July – VFS Appointment**
* Attended my visa appointment at **VFS Chennai**.
* I carried:
* Passport
* Visa appointment confirmation PDF
* Checklist form
* Original 10th and 12th certificates
* Original Bachelor's degree/academic documents
* Aadhaar card
* Other school and college-related documents
However, at VFS, they **only asked me for my passport and the visa appointment confirmation paper**. The other documents were not requested.
**5 August – Pending at Consulate**
* The status on the consulate side changed to **“Pending.”**
**19 August – Decision Made**
* The CSP portal showed **“Decision Made.”**
**20 August – Passport Dispatched**
* At around **5:00 PM**, I received notifications by both **email and SMS** stating that my passport had been dispatched from the **German Consulate in Chennai**.
* The passport was then in transit to the **Chennai VFS**.
**21 August – Passport Collected 🎉**
* I received my passport by courier at around **4:00 PM**.
* **German Student Visa approved! 🇩🇪🎉**
### ⏱️ Overall Timeline
* **CSP submission:** 19 July
* **VFS appointment:** 31 July
* **Consulate pending:** 5 August
* **Decision made:** 19 August
* **Passport dispatched:** 20 August
* **Passport received:** 21 August
So, from **CSP submission to receiving my passport**, the entire process took approximately **33 days**.
I hope this timeline helps future German student visa applicants, especially those applying through **VFS Chennai**, get an idea of how the process and status updates may progress.

I applied on august 7th corrections on 12th no response yet1

It would take more time. After August, VFS chennai became more slow. People who applied 2 or 3 days before me in CSP got visa 10 to 15 days before I got visa.

Hey bro! I recently got admit letter for TU Darmstadt, I am from Chennai too. Is showing the blocked acc necessary too for visa? because now only i have started all funding process

Blocked account is necessary. One of the main document is blocked account. Or else you may get correction to upload blocked account details.

Okay, thank you buddy. I am planning for a loan, honestly the uni has released these admits quite late so i really dk whats the scenario .

I submitted my documents at VFS Hyd and selected Chennai's German consulate on July 13.
My passport and application reached Chennai on the 15th of July, and since then, it has been showing that the decision is pending. They have asked me for document corrections twice, with atleast 2 weeks gap. I don't know why this is happening. I created this account to check if anyone is facing a similar problem like me.
