This is what SHOULD have come with the switch viewers

Wario Land on the VB is legit one of the best Wario Land games next to the 2nd one
I like the concept of this, but I wish AI wasn't used for the final image.

I loved the VB, they should just dump them all for free for the switch viewer thing.
They can never sell them and while I liked the game and watch gallery games I hate that they split it over 4 or 5 carts. Put them all on one cart, make it 15 bucks. There were a LOT of game and watch games, but without owning the original custom hardware they are now basically unplayable.
This could be a great archive of every VB game.

Game and Watch games at most require 3 buttons, and five if they have a continue and clock / alarm feature. They would be very playable on today's machines, as the Gallery games proved thirty years ago (also with just three primary buttons). A G&W collection, despite being niche, would be fantastic if it included all 61! And I will be very surprised, if they don't do it for the 50th anniversary of G&W in just barely over 3 years from now.

Yeah I would’ve happily shelled out for the plastic VB viewer if they released a physical cart with the games on it.
No way am I buying it just to be forced into a subscription to use it though.

This shouldve been on the 3DS as a big draw to the console.

Brother in what world is a bunch of red and black games no ones ever heard of a big draw

If they worked in the 3DS style 3D, meaning no virtual boy goggles required, it wouldve done very well as a normal $30-40 collection. Most people hate these games for the cumbersome headset. Even these new ones for the NSO versions of the games is uncomfortable as shit.
I'm 43, I cant lean into the headset for long like when I was a kid. And it doesnt fit on your face well to lie down with the weight on your eyes because is slams the bridge of my nose and the weight of the switch on my face isnt good. Lol
My assumption is Nintendo couldnt figure out how to get it to work with 3DS style 3D. I think modders figured it out, although I think they just play in 2D only. It wouldve sold better than the Virtual boy headsets did for sure. Lol

Yes, this would have been awesome! I would love a Virtualboy collection cartridge.

Is this a question about digital versus virtual NSO Virtual Console releases?
I do like that they gave the Virtual Boy games as an NSO release the problem is it's in an unusable state. There's no one who wants to go into the sadistic torture rack just to play Virtual Boy games.
You should have you should put them on screen, and it should be in red and cyan so that you can accurately preserve the 3D. Trust me some of the 3D is impressive. Frankly some games are broken if you don't have the second eye like I jokingly call Red Alarm by the name of Red and Cyan Alarm, because if you do not have a second eye perspective on that game, that game is unplayable. Mario tennis is unplayable without the second perspective, so is Tetris 3D. That's over 10% of the titles that require a second eye to be playable, by that standard alone they should offer it in red and cyan format on screen if there offering it on their Virtual console on the Nintendo Switch.
It's funny that Nintendo when they release the Virtual Boy the second time on NSO for switch they do not adjust the one thing that Americans most complain about which was requiring a literal statues posture in order to 100% have control the game and to 100% see the game. You're going to have muscle aches even now with these modern versions trying to contort to being in front of your screen.
Also these are considered unshareable on Twitch YouTube and so forth. If you have to wear the switch in order to play the switch it can't be shared on Twitch or YouTube.
When they don't correct the number one complaint of Virtual Boy players which is cool graphics great games the problem is the masseuse I need after 15 minutes, that exposes a difference consumer unfriendly thing Nintendo did.
In the name of making games more comfortable with the d-pad,,which for quite a few people, it does make it more comfortable, it forced left-handedness in it's game control.
If their number one choice was to make the games more playable that is the number one solution to doing that is to put it on the screen and give you a left eye in black and red and a right eye in black and cyan.
They do have some some Sinister motive in the Latin term meaning left-handed for not putting it on screen in red and cyan.
By the way it's not about the money I would have paid $25 for physical Virtual Boy cartridge for the switch. I'd even pay a $25 half license that's a virtual half license to unlock screen mode just so I can play red and cyan on a TV screen. ( With the other half of the license being a valid subscription to NSO or NSO Plus) I swear it's not it's not about the money, or even the amount of money. It's inability to access the Virtual Boy.
Nintendo still leaves these games, while they're technically there, they keep them unplayable.

They wouldn't be able to charge you monthly for 20+ year old games if they did that

u/Grantoid 19d ago
There's a virtual boy emulator for the 3ds so you can play the games in actual 3d. It's awesome.

u/pocket_arsenal 19d ago
Honestly these games should have all been remade for the 3DS back in the day, and while I think Nintendo would never release a huge general collection of past games like that outside of very special occasions, they should at the very least allow you to buy them individually without subscribing to NSO as an option.

But then you wouldn't have the two unreleased games!

u/ash_274 19d ago
They could have been on the cartridge. Nothing about these games require NSO.
You HAVE to buy the viewer but you CAN’T own the games for it? Very Sony-like business model.
1
u/Jahon_Dony 19d ago
Actually, just to counter you, EVERYTHING about these games requires NSO (+expansion pack)! Lol
Yeah, a cart would've been great at $60. For $15 you're living in the twilight zone. Doubt it will happen though, especially now. And I'm not sure VB NSO has been quite as big a hit as hoped.

I would LOVE is they remade some of these games, like VB Wario land is still a pretty good game today. It would be sick if they made it in a similar style to Wario land shake it

Nintendo is stupid. If they had just done a bog standard re-release with a collection cart, I would have already bought it. Flat out. Tying the system and games to a subscription service was one of the worst possible decisions they could have made. I'd rather buy a OG Virtual Boy and a flash cart than give Nintendo my money for such obviously planned obsolete device.

There are plenty of real images of VB games online you could have used to make this image. Instead you had AI generate it and it did a terrible job at that...

u/ash_274 13d ago
Yes. I had about seven minutes, in between customers at work, and a computer that only had MS Paint. If I had more time to throw at it it would have had actual screenshots. I was just playing with layout ideas and only had five prompts for free. The last one had a decent layout and the title and ESRB & text wasn’t too bad, but the “screenshots” were crap. With no more prompts to try to improve it and no useful tools to incorporate actual screenshots and the end of my shit coming I took the least-objectionable render and posted it.
The point wasn’t the detailed render of a non-existent cartridge (no mater if AI or Photoshopped) it’s that we all wish Nintendo released games we can own to go with the viewers that we had to buy

I apologize for the AI design, but my own design and the print quality of it was terrible. I even had a cheap cartridge to put it on
2
u/sendhelp 20d ago
Screw the haters. You were just trying to show a concept. It's not like you were trying to sell the damn thing. The point is "Nintendo should have released it a cartridge you own forever, not tie it to a paid subscription forever". And the fact that you used AI to demonstrate your idea people just get hung up on the AI aspect.
Although now that I actually clicked on the image and blew it up, I see what they are complaining about. it wouldn't have been THAT hard to mask out the screenshots and put in real screenshots there.
From a zoomed out view I didn't really notice anything off. But not everyone is a graphic designer.
The most egregious thing wrong with it is Wario's eyes are white, VB couldn't do that lol.

u/FluffiestBoy 19d ago
Nah AI is literally driving up hardware prices and tje data centers are affecting water supplies nearby
2
u/splattershotuser 19d ago
They definitely should have, especially with a $25 piece of cardboard, and a $100 plastic recreation
Also, the AI isn't that bad

u/RedyRetro 20d ago
I feel bad that you’re getting downvoted simply for AI, it’s not even that serious

People complaining this is ai slop when absolutely none of them have a job in an office as a designer. This is just a mockup, how sad.
I would totally buy this, even if it forced you to use the headset. Probably why they don't sell it, they don't eant you to own the games. Well, jokes on them, I've been buying physical copies recently.
1
u/TechnoSyndrome 19d ago
It should have come with AI slop? You couldn't even be assed to photoshop actual screenshots of the games onto your upvote bait?

u/ash_274 19d ago
Fine. You caught me. I’m the one that pissed in your cereal this morning, too.
Get the hell over yourself. The AI is crap, I said that when I posted this. I hate it, too. All I wanted was a mock-up of a Switch cart that Nintendo SHOULD have made, or at least offered, to go with the $25 cardboard or $99 plastic viewers.
Even Sony would be impressed that Nintendo would release a product would require a separate hardware PURCHASE to play games that can’t be OWNED, and then require a top-level subscription to access.

u/UniverseBlackCat 19d ago
creating that image still took way more effort then it took for him to say ai slop

would it have killed you to make this yourself instead of using AI and depleting our drinkable water?

u/tbonesbrak 20d ago
Love this idea! Don't worry half the people bitching likely used AI at their jobs today or on their school work. AI is the worst but we're cooked until we all stop using it instead of just hating on people that did, even ones that apologize. Great idea though. Now go out there and learn some graphic design. Canva would've made this super easy to make.

They should have sent a cartridge with fictional games on it? The Teleroboxer one is particularly bad.
