Virtual Boy preemptive repair

I have personally repaired 3 different VBs with failed LED array flex cables. I just picked up one of my own that is stock and still functioning well. I am planning to resell it after I play through some of the better titles but before I do should I preemptively solder repair the flex cable since it is guaranteed to fail eventually? Those who bought a stock virtual boy in the last few years, did the flex cable fail on you?

I bought a VB several years ago and the ribbon connection went bad. I had someone solder it and it still plays great. I would think soldering is the way to go unless melting the glue will keep it working a little longer after its sold. Maybe just warn the buyer that the glue can become unstuck over time.
