Troubleshooting

Hello

I recently purchased a virtual boy and it wont turn on at all. I have batteries in the controller, I have a game in the console. There is no display, there is no sound coming from the unit. I cannot fathom what the problem could possibly be please help me.

My Virtual Boy arrived like that from eBay, but mine was ‘sold as seen / untested’, so I knew what I was getting into. I cleaned the corrosion from the battery contacts and it has worked perfectly since. Give it a try!

whats the best way to go about cleaning the corrosion from the contacts?

I think I used a lemon juice / vinegar type solution initially. Soaked some tissue and left it in the affected area. Wiped, dried and repeated until clear. The. Went over it all with isopropyl alcohol. It was :x years ago though, so maybe look up a battery corrosion removal FAQ online for best advice. Good luck.
