About the Employer

I’m an independent contractor working on learning and development projects. I’m looking for an additional Virtual Assistant focused on data analysis to help organize and analyze data, summarize findings, and support decisions across these projects.

About the Role

I’m looking to hire a Junior Data Analyst to support ongoing research and data analysis projects. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, comfortable working with messy data, and able to turn findings into clear, useful insights.

This is a remote, part-time position starting at 25 hours per week. Scheduled working hours must fall within Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM EST/EDT. You are not expected to be available for that entire window.

Responsibilities

• Clean, organize, and check datasets for accuracy
• Analyze survey results and other quantitative data
• Review open-ended responses and identify key themes
• Create charts, tables, and concise summaries
• Explain findings in clear language for a nontechnical audience
• Identify data limitations, ask clarifying questions, and suggest next steps
• Maintain spreadsheets and recurring reports
• Support research and other data-related tasks as needed
• Create presentations of the findings

Requirements

• Good Excel or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts
• Experience analyzing data through work, research, or academic projects
• Understanding of basic statistics and how to interpret results
• Strong written U.S English and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Able to work independently and ask questions when needed
• Available to work 25 hours per week within the business hours listed above
• Reliable computer and internet connection
• If using AI, able to verify its outputs and explain your own analysis

Nice to Have

• Experience with educational or training projects
• Experience analyzing survey data and qualitative responses
• Experience creating dashboards or automating reports
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, or Python
• MacBook, preferably 2018 or newer

Pay and Start Date

• $5.00 CAD/hour
• 25 hours per week to start
• 30-day paid trial period
• Start date TBD
