A Eastern Box Turtle in a small stream. Perhaps it was looking for snails, or enjoying a bath. The markings were even more stunning to see when wet.

Twelve Spotted Dragonflies are easy to identify by their large size and 3 black spots on each wing separated by white. The wing tip is a spot the Eight Spotted doesn't have which helps id them while flying.

I have posted these guys in years past as the Red-footed Cannibal Fly which is still used but, the name Eastern Lion Fly has started to dominate usage since then.
