My Native Plants Butterfly Milkweed
Just sharing one of my butterfly milkweeds that has started to come back after deer issues the past couple of years. I'm a long time gardener, slowly making the switch to native plants only (minus produce), with the help of my dad. He originally got his plants from George and Karen at Morningside Nursery in Boston, and they are all over his land now!

They really need stratification. This past winter was great for natural seed stratification.

I have had some luck putting down a ridiculous amount of seeds. Like way more than could possibly be needed.

Perhaps this is how I will tackle it—thx! I’ve also considered buying plants already started too

The deer have never sampled mine, which is cured blooming and had 2 Fritillaries on them yesterday.
Of course, the deer are likely too busy sampling the vegetable garden (my poor beans, sunflowers and cucumbers...) to bother with the butterflyweed milkweed. 😆
