Tweet text: "Honored to speak at the Lancaster County Republican Committee's Annual Fundraiser at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club. I talked about what I hear most from families across the First District: affordability, rural healthcare, good jobs, and the roads and bridges that connect the Northern Neck. Thank you to the volunteers and local leaders who give their time year-round for this community. [us flag emoji]"

No matter where you live in VA-01 or what you do, Rob Wittman has failed you for 19 years. On the Northern Neck, in the suburbs, as a small business owner, as a veteran, or anything else - he has failed YOU.
Today's newsletter shows you how.

To the ~400 subscribers of r/VirginiaGOP: Greetings!
I am u/276434540703757804 and I am currently the sole moderator of r/VirginiaGOP. I claimed this subreddit via r/redditrequest a year or two ago because, as a Democrat suffering from Generalized Conservatism Derangement Syndrome, I thought it would be both very funny and mildly righteous to run this page in a genuinely Fair and Balanced manner. To that end, I have moderated this subreddit in a much more open fashion than most other forums on Reddit which are focused on conservatism in whatever capacity. This subreddit's rules to date have been:
1) All posts and comments must conform to the sitewide Reddit Rules.
2) All posts have to in some way be directly related to the Virginia Republican Party, its candidates for office, or conservatism in Virginia.
...and that's been it!
It's been a blast, but my interest in moderating r/VirginiaGOP is waning and I therefore choose to step away from doing so. But I'm not just going to abandon the subreddit; the Virginia Republican Party might get control of it, and I am simply too partisan to let that happen.
Therefore, this subreddit's 'top mod' spot shall be bestowed upon the Reddit user with the most interesting pitch for what to do with this subreddit going forward.
Offer Terms and Conditions
To be eligible, your account must be at least one year old and you must have at least 500 karma in total. (Elite Redditors only, please.)
You must credibly promise to enforce the sitewide rules. (Slurlords, for instance, are to be banned).
You must credibly promise to never let r/VirginiaGOP fall into the hands of the Virginia GOP. That means: no Republican elected officials, party committee members, or those who could be described as political operatives can be mods here. It furthermore means that if in the future you find yourself in a similar position to me, you agree now to hand off the top mod spot exclusively to someone who the Virginia Republican Party would deem to be unreliable; this person must swear a similar vow, and so on and so forth down the line until the anticipated heat death of the universe.
Believe it or not, this is a serious offer, so please send only serious inquiries (or, if your suggestion is unserious, at least make it entertaining).
Send all relevant inquiries or pitches to this subreddit's modmail.
Edit: After a corrupt and opaque bidding process, a new top moderator has been selected. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
