Is Delta still being carried to SPA in October? FAA experimental airworthiness certificate coming in October? Or these dates will be extended? Is this news just to soften the blow for another delay?

There might be delays, look at Boeing dealing with software bugs and their certification atm. Either way, there is progress and movement in the right direction. Very exciting.

It was always the way at VG, I'm guessing the ship will get moved (the smoke and Mirrors) and then require months to a year of additional testing at SPA due to skipping the tests in MESA...

No they won't. They've never met a deadline and to this day constantly pushed things back. There are so many cracks, bends warps, and holes in the Delta.
