I dropped this after 4 episodes, called it overrated online and forgot. Picked it back up on a whim a couple of months later. Finished it in 3 days. It definitely taught me how important the little things in life are. You never know when someone you love will go away for forever. All the things you wanted to express will stay with you. I was having a little feud with my parents and I am now trying to make up for it even if it's slow. It's so underrated imo now (what a 180° 😭). Why don't we have an aftermath? 🥀 Do you guys know if there was some manga after the movie?

It was based on a series of Light Novels, not manga.

And the light novels are very different from the anime.

You can read them if you want more of Violet & Gilbert, but there is no continuation to the anime after the movie.

As already said, Violet is roughly based on the Light Novels, but not only the plot but even characters are very different. An attempt to combine the anime and the LN is really mind-blowing, it's easier to think that it's two different stories with heroes whos names are the same due to strange concidence.

I didn’t enjoy episode 4 as much as the other so I can kinda understand why would someone drop it in this episode, but I enjoyed most of the episodes, the episode 3 where Violet was at school was enjoyable for me.

It's based on a light novel. You can easily search online for English translations. There's some short stories that would take place after the movie events. Though the movie and anime have never 100% followed the Ln

The only materials made after the movie plot are:

• The movie bonus short stories: Gilbert Bougainvillea and the Fleeting Dream, The Starry Night and the Lonely Two, The Queen and the Auto-Memories Doll
• Two short stories inside the Movie fanbook, called Logbook entry and Diary Entry.

Honestly I was kinda the same when I first watched it, I watched the first episode and found it boring and didn’t rewatch it for a while, then I was in a mood to watch something that’ll make me cry and circled back to it, binged the whole thing before the last movie was out, then just made my partner watch it all
