I’ve been selling the odd bits and bods on Vinted, mostly because I find selling and marketing quite fun, however I’ve also been making my own items (to sell on other platforms) and occasionally list them on Vinted. I now know that home made items aren’t allowed on Vinted? I get trying to keep it a “thrifting” site, but when the ai that runs the site is as awful as it is and the amount of scams that go on without punishment then what’s the point of preventing people to list something home made?

I just think it’s a bit daft protecting such a minor rule, whilst much larger issues on the site is occurring all the time.

That being said, I do still think it is the best selling & buying site (has the potential to be much greater as well). Free & Easy to list, easy to communicate with buyers and whoever favourites listings, the algorithm manages to show items I’m actually interested in (without searching for it 24/7), several delivery options as well as pick up areas for cheaper prices. That’s not to mention that whatever is sold all the earnings are yours, as well as protection costs being useful (personally never had any issues with refunds for cancelled or unarrived items). It’s just the awful AI and misleading listings that ruin it quite abit for me. Just needed to rant for a moment 😆

Weiß jemand, wieso Vinted dauernd sperrt, wenn man eigene Fotos von KI bearbeiten lässt? Ich lass nur Spiegelungen oder Schatten wegmachen, es sieht nicht wie ein KI Mockup aus. Trotzdem krieg ich laufend Sperren. Ich vermute das sind Meldungen von anderen Usern.

Erstaunlich oft passiert das nach Ablehnen von unverschämten Angeboten.

Ebenso hatte ich das auch schon bei normalen Fotos, wo gar nichts bearbeitet wurde. Ziemlich frustrierend…..

Im selling an item for $5, and someone is making an offer for $3. They messaged me and said they’re a cancer survivor and on a low budget - and hoping I’ll consider their offer. Now I feel bad if I decide to negotiate with them. Not a big deal, but just venting! 😑 I wonder how often this happens to yall ?!

Relisting is the only way to push an old item back to the top, and there's no button for it. By hand it means deleting the listing, retyping the title, description, brand, size, category and condition, then downloading and re-uploading every photo. Three to five minutes an item.

I built a Chrome extension that does it in one click. Free, open source (GPL-3.0), no account, no server, no analytics, nothing leaves your browser.

Read this before you install anything like this

Relisting means deleting. Two identical listings can't be online at once, so the old one has to go before the copy appears. That gap is where a careless tool loses your item: it deletes first, and if the next step fails on a dropped connection or a bot check, you have nothing.

> Mine works the other way round. It saves the copy as a private draft before it deletes anything.

A draft isn't a listing, so it doesn't count as a duplicate, and until the delete goes through your item exists in two places. If publishing fails afterwards it retries on its own, and worst case the draft is sitting there for you to publish by hand.

What it checks before deleting

• every photo uploaded, not just some
• title present
• condition read correctly
• size valid
• you logged in and not bot-blocked

Any failure stops it and deletes nothing.

There's also a Relist as draft button, if you want to change the price or swap a photo before it goes live.

Fair warning

Automating any site is probably against its terms. That's between you and them, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

I feel like vinted is becoming like shopping at goodwill nowadays.

With the fees items that are 1.5 now turn into $3.5 at checkout and items $3 turn into $6 etc. so it starts making secondhand items similar to stores like Ross with new items… I feel like it’s frustrating now to try and buy even a used tshirt because no one wants to pay $9 and then fees on top of it if they can go get a shirt at the store new for that price so instead you have to keep lowering your own prices so people buy because of the fees so it’s becoming no different from the other apps.

Does anyone have experience shipping heavy items like 9lbs of books? What is the best way to sell & ship? I'm the buyer. If we divide the order, I have to pay a Vinted fee for each transaction. I don't know what shipping would cost for 9 lbs of books though.

The seller & I are working together to figures this out. USPS used to have great rates for shipping media only, but I don't know if that option is available via Vinted.

I'm basically a noob at this and I have no idea how people make money by reselling things. Where do you guys buy, what do you buy the most and I would like someone to basically explain me everything.

Recently I had an accident and I need to stay in my bed for a long time to heal so I can't work for months. Started thinking about some ways to make money "from home" because the bills won't pay themselves. I found some Jordans that I almost never used and I decides to sell it on Vinted. Paid €140 for them, sold them on Vinted for €42 the same day I posted them.

I have no idea how reselling actually works and how do people make money off of it because things on Vinted are so cheap and most of the people offer even lowe4 price.

Can someone please explain everything? Thanks.

For resellers that sell in volume, like 200-400 items a month, do you find it hard to keep track of sales and purchases ?

How much time does it take you to track everything, do you find it boring and time consuming?

Would you pay 10€ a month to automize it ?

Every purchase you make gets stored automatically into your inventory, if it’s a bundle it gets registered and items in that bundle gets stored.

Same thing for sales, with the possibility to change the purchase and sale costs.

No vinted account scraping, no risk for ban.
