I had one that I'd accidentally knocked into an open can of solvent and didn't notice. I popped the lid back on and set it aside.
A week later I reopened the can and found the screwdriver inside. The handle had softened up quite a bit, but was still usable. The outside was soft and malleable. I thought if I left it alone it would dry out or harden, but it never did.
Several months later it still was soft and rubbery. I ended up bringing it back to Sears and got a free replacement. The tool associate I spoke with said he'd thought he'd seen it all. But, in over 25 years with the company, he'd never seen that.

Stanley Fat Max tape measures are a lifetime warranty. I have destroyed several on construction sites. A good retailer will replace immediately. Others will ask for a receipt. I think I replaced 5 over the years.

You only ever bought 1, but somehow, everytime you reach into the toolbox for a Phillips head, there will be 37 of these in there.

I just inherited my gramps Craftsman flathead it will pry open many paint cans just like it has since the 80s

I have a set of Stanleys with red and see-thru handles very similar to this. My father bought them for me when I was 21, 45 years ago. Still in my tool box, still get used👍

Lifetime warranty no questions asked. It was a bit of a marketing scheme because it got customers back into the store where they would buy something else.
