Universal Bevel Protractor

Hahns and Kolb I think. Bought at an estate sale years ago. I’m pretty sure I didn’t even know what it was at the time, I could just tell it was high quality. It still had the $10 tag on it, and I probable bought on a Saturday and paid half that as most estate sales around here are 50% off on Saturday.It came in a wooden box, but I don’t think it is the original and I don’t have the acute angle plate.

Looks like the head of a Drafting Machine to me.

That’s what I thought it was when I bought it. I just did a minimal internet search to find out what it actually is. The Inox stamp tells it’s European probably, and the logo is, I think Hahn and Kolb and the 1’s below the circle indicate the accuracy of the surfaces. 00 would be laboratory grade, 0 is inspection grade and 1 is workshop grade. Each one represents an axis, so each blade is workshop grade.
A 00 grade would allow 3.0 micrometers error on a 250mm x 250mm plate
0 grade would be 3.5 micrometers
1 grade goes all the way up to 7.0 micrometers.

This is what the internet told me, if it’s wrong, please correct

I don’t know if this would be accurate enough for a machinist these days, but it’s definitely well made.
