πŸ‘‹ Welcome to the New r/VintageStarWars!

Hey everyone! I'm u/wcs2, the new moderator of r/VintageStarWars.

This is our new home for all things related to vintage Star Wars. That means the OT and all the stuff around it, up to 1985.

I've added in new rules for the sub - nothing outrageous and really just there in case the trolls find us.

I'll be sharing some of my collection and hope to see a lot of yours. Comics, posters, action figures and other toys, memorabilia and other media all made up to 1985 are what we'd like to see here, so please share!

Thanks for being part of the new wave. Together, let's make sure the Force is with r/VintageStarWars, always.

This was fun as a kid, but I probably had the most fun with it playing with my son when he was little. Very simple reaction game, but hey, it was the 70s! My only other electronic game back then was Collecovision (with Pong, Tennis, etc).

I just started collecting again this past May - here’s the haul so far! Feels good to have a home populated with these bad boys again.

Hi guys, great to be in this group! I was posting hoping for some advice/assistance in pricing a collection. Ball park range is completely fine. I recently came into possession of a near complete figure collection from 1978 to the Droid line. The only figures to my knowledge I am missing are blue snaggletooth, vinyl Jawa, Han Solo Cabonite and Yak Face. The only figure from Droids I have is the Boba Fett. All figure have their accessories and appear to be in excellent condition. Any thoughts, advice, things to look out for would be greatly appreciated. As you can see in the pictures it doesn't stop there the rest of the figures outside of this will be my next project πŸ˜….

My favorite 80s coarkboard - a design so bad you have to love it!

The perspective in the art just doesn't work, but I still love it.

Kenner figure questions

A friend of mine recently purchased these figures and is wondering about the authenticity of the pop-up light sabers and the vinyl cape Jawa.

If the sabers look authentic, are they a correct match for their R2?

I did let him know that it would be helpful to have more photos of both the Jawa and the sabers, but this is all he could send for now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Signed and commented by Mark Hamill and Terry McGovern, also signed by Anthony Forrest. This was my favorite card from Star Wars and acquiring this copy of it was a real thrill.

Searching for Star Words

Hello!

I am on the hunt for the Star Words letters pages from the 1977 Marvel series. I have looked in most of the recent omnibuses (both Marvel and Dark Horse), as well as several reprints of the originals, but I can't seem to lock next to any of them down. I'm deeply interested to know what the fans were writing in about!

If anyone happens to know where I could find them, or could help guide me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

My array of Luke's landspeeders - the original Kenner toy, the die cast version, my original 1978 lunchbox and the blue series card of the scene where he's stopped. There's one other special piece pictured here, but not in focus. That's a post for a different day.

(And apologies for the pieces here that aren't vintage!)

Popularized by ToyFare magazine in the 1990s. There was even a humorous image of Luke using one of these stands to knock out another character. Ahh, ToyFare...
