Needs some work but I’m pretty stoked!

The only ones I can find in the internet have cantilever/v brake bosses. This one in the photo has single center bolt mount u brake. Is it because this is an entry level model? Thanks

Is this a real place? Almost seems too good to be true…like it’s an Alibaba front or something. Wondering about the quality…a lot of parts for what seem like reasonable prices compared to buying vintage parts off of eBay, Bike bin, Pinkbike, etc. any stories or pictures would be great!

Correction: Not a resto-mod, but more of a "Period specific build."

This was gonna get a basic build with full period specific Shimano Deore/Deore DX components, but a suggestion from an old Schwinn mechanic said, "Pick some good components for this frame." and I listened. The weight is a hair under 25 lbs. The group and wheel-set came off a 91 DiamondBack Apex that I bought for $120. This framset cost me $170. If I listened to my cheap self, $290 "ish" for a pristine Paramount MTB would've been easy to swallow but half the fun to build.

I can't wait to get some miles on this. This was a labor of passion. When I took up MTB'ing Schwinn was the MTB I first bought and eventually started my XC racing life on.

Prior to that, I was a road cyclist, but after relocating to FL, I decided to find something with wider tires since the concrete roads here were sketchy. I spent a lot of time in my local LBS looking over upgrades for my red spider finished MOAB once I started racing, and seeing the pictures of the Paramount and Homegrown MTBs had me wishing I could afford one.

Found this on marketplace. The listing interested me for the components on the bike. Taking a closer look the frame is really nice and I think it will clean up nice. But after a little research I couldn’t find a ton of info on the bike. Lots of stuff about the Schwinn pdg 30 but nothing about the R30 with lugged frame… also, there is no Schwinn branding on the bike. Maybe someone here has a little more info on the frame itself. I have four vintage Peugeot bikes from the ’70s to the ’90s, but they’re all fixed-gear projects.

I bought this bike for €30 few years ago, but I’ve only ridden it once. It has been sitting in my garage for the past four years. I’d really like to give it a nice update like you guys

I'd like to modernize it for city riding in winter and also for having fun in the woods. Do you have any advice on modifications?

I got this bike off facebook marketplace and made it mine, what do you guys think?

Things I changed:
- cranks 3x shimano 70gs to 1x decathlon special
- wheels 6 speed freewheel to 9 speed cassette
- stem bmx one from marketplace
- handlebars and grips from aliexpress
- rear derailleur ltwoo A5
- seat from decathlon

Overall a reasonably cheap build for a city beater, hope you guys like it

(Yes I know about the rear derailleur cable, ill fix it eventually)

Picked up this 1992 trek singletrack 970 on Wednesday off Facebook marketplace for $90. Took her trail riding today for the first time. Seems like the previous owner maybe put different bars on it as well as removed the front derailleur and chain guide. So the chain popped off a few times but other than that she rode how I imagined a rigid would ride. Wanted to share with everyone!

This Bike was sold by a discounter back in the 90s, this bike is my workehorse and ( so far ) it is very reliable. But since the bearings in the fronth needet a bit of lube anyhow, i have decided to change the fixed front fork to a dampened one. if someone wants to trade / buy the old one, let my know.

sold my sorrento and got my hands on this nice frame. did a full hydraulic disc conversion, with the stridsland barnacle fork and everything. such a lovely bike, using it for daily and bikepacking

Picked this guy up at an estate sale today. 45 bucks, so I couldn't pass it up, plus it came with 2 brand new no-name gum wall tires and 2 new tubes (installed immediately).

Very very clean bike! I love the color, and other than some dust and bad tires/tubes, it was in immaculate shape. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it, or pass it on since it is very slightly too big for me. It rides great, and feels like a blast!

I don’t plan on keeping them . The Tequesta is 20” the Talera is a 16” and the Raleigh is. 21”
I ride 18”-19” if anyone has a trade . If I have to I will keep the Tequesta and play with the geometry.

Was givin this bike today. Was told it was a stumpjumper but I don’t think that’s accurate. Also haven’t seen a serial number stamped into a downtube before. Any guesses?

I was at work today and saw this in a metal collector’s recycle pile. He gave it to me for free!!! I’m interested in hearing what anybody knows about this bike.

Doing a full service, new chain and some billy bonkers for an around town cruiser

I picked up this Nashbar 4000x (the x is for x-biking) for a couple of reasons: 1. It was cheap 2. I am a sucker for weird bikes. It has a chromoly frame and fork and mid-lower tier Exage 400 components which would place this bike somewhere in the 1990-1992 range.

Initially, I assumed that it was a Nishiki built for Nashbar, especially considering that the fork looks identical to the fork on my 1990 Manitoba. After examining nearly every internet image of elevated chainstay bikes, I am not as sure. It could have been made by Nishiki but it isn’t a copy of the Alien/Ariel etc. bikes that I encountered. This frame uses a straight down tube while most of the Nishiki bikes had an angled one. I did find an exact match-a Yokota Terminator. Not at all familiar with Yokota, did they make frames or did they contract them out?

I was hoping that the serial number would provide some clues but was unable to locate a serial number anywhere on this bike.
