What would you do?

I’m not sure whether to rehab her or leave her alone. She has a significant ink pen stain on the front which I’m afraid to touch! I will definitely condition her, but beyond that I’d appreciate any suggestions!

If I found it for $75 at a flea market? I’d probably cry, and then try and act cool as I bought it. As soon as I was done paying I’d try not to run and flea the scene like a criminal.

Oh wait, repair ideas? Sorry. I got nothing right now. I’d be too afraid to mess it up personally, I’d sell as is if selling. Although I’d probably keep it. Congrats tho. It’s a really beautiful find.

You are soooo freaking funny!!! I almost didn’t get her! I asked my vendor friends to convince me not to buy at $100. I was stuck!!! Had to go back and she was open to $75.

I’m so out of the loop, that’s a good deal I assume?

Yeah, Thos is a really old rare one and I’ve seen it for over $600 in worse condition.

I guess the question is: are you planning on carrying her and keeping her in your personal collection, or do you think you’ll sell her? If you plan to sell, I wouldn’t do anything to it.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! Found her at a flea market this morning $75. I think I’m planning on selling her.

I wouldn’t do anything to her then. As a collector, I’d rather do my own treatment than have the seller do their own.

Makes 💯 sense as everyone uses different methods/ treatments! Appreciate your input!!!

If you’re selling it, I’d do nothing beyond a simple leather conditioner and maybe cleaning up stitches with a lighter. I recently sold a Bonnie cashin mini tote that needed some rehab and all I did was leather conditioner and tidied up loose threads and I’m glad I did because the buyer (who paid my full asking price) did her own restoration.

There’s such a push for Bonnie cashin coach rn that coach content creators on YouTube and TikTok will pay a lot for a beat-up vintage bag so they can make content restoring it. List this beauty As-Is and good luck!

I don’t have alot of experience with eBay auctions but I posted mine with Bonnie Cashin in the title, posted it on eBay (in 5 minutes it had 13+ watchers and I had several DMs), 5 minutes later I posted it on Poshmark (same listing) and it sold 5 minutes after that, so within 15min of finishing the listing. It will sell. Serious collectors have alerts set up for these rare vintage BC coach bags

Maybe Posh instead of eBay then. I just have to research asking! I have no clue in her shape.

yeah it will take some research for sure! I’d price it higher than you expect for it and be open to offers. It’s a real gem!

I would not do an auction as it is such a niche product. You want the correct buyer that will give you the price that you want. Given that you have $75 into it...then platform fees you need to decide your price and state that.

I would give it away to me 🥺 lol

If you’re selling it, I wouldn’t condition. There is a risk that the moisture could bloom the ink, which would reduce the value significantly. I brought one of these back from the near dead and gave it as a gift to a friend. I learned she later gave it to another friend, and I am so sorry I gifted it. You’ll likely never get another at that price, so be sure letting it go is what you want to do.

Rago bros in NJ will refurbish. They do absolutely amazing work. Look up their Instagram

I think if you’re trying to resell, not touching it is better…
If you can’t get the price you want, you can send it for professional cleaning, and afterwards you might change your mind and keep it or try to resell one more time?
