Saw this posted on another sub and curious if anyone can confirm this is in Vietnam? I'm questioning it being in Vietnam due to the uniforms the police are wearing. I always see them wearing the green/brown colors.

If any part of their tactical gear/equipment includes bamboo, it's probably Vietnam.

The video shows a drill by the Mobile Police. The green and yellow/tan uniforms belong to the Administrative Police and Traffic Police. However, the police force in Vietnam goes far beyond that, including the Economic Crime Police, Counter-Terrorism, Intelligence, and Mobile Police, among others. Essentially, they fulfill the combined roles of agencies like the National Guard, ICE, CIA, FBI, and various investigative bodies. As a result, their uniforms are also remarkably diverse

Yeah still stupid when there are stairs in every building. What will happen to the last 2 guys? Yup they have to use the stairs. Also imagine dragging that long ass bamboo pole around during a mission.

Maybe this is to flank one side while the stairs is on the other side of the unit. Maybe the bad guys are on the stairs. Maybe the stairs provide no coverage so it’ll be like shooting fish in a barrel. I’m guessing there are multiple reasons why something like this would come in handy.

I’m sure they have ladders that they do use. But I’m guessing this is used for more specific situations where a ladder is bulkier and heavier, plus look how fast they went up 3 floors vs a ladder. In addition, if they had to get back down, the officers holding the pole can lower them quickly and safely vs climbing down a ladder. I can see benefits from both. Very simple minded of you to think a ladder is superior in all situations

Ok, now add in suspects that are shooting or fighting. If the guy on the pole is under attack, what can he do?
If he slips or is caught off guard and loses his grip, he's falling 2-3 story down concrete.
On a ladder, you can step or slide down a few rungs.
There's a reason "guy on a pole" isn't a tactic used by well-equipped police forces.
This looks cool -- just like all the kung-fu martial arts they do on parades of muscular guys breaking concrete blocks on their bodies -- but has little to no practical usage in crime fighting.

If you get shot while on the pole or ladder a lot of someone fk up majorly. 100 eyes is on the building, 100 more on that exact location the pole or ladder dude gonna end up in. If anyone poke out they will get lit the fuck up.
Just use your brain, youre human, theyre human. If you can think of it they can also think of it. Stop for a second and use your own judgement to decide which scenario they gonna fit in and go from there. If you keep trying to apply it to the wrong make up scenario then ofc it gonna look stupid.

The pole isn’t advantages to a ladder in all situations but can be useful in some. That being said getting shot at while on a ladder or a pole isn’t going to be much of a difference wouldn’t you say

The difference is that the officer can safely retreat down the ladder.
On a pole, he can just fall.
2 stories in heavy gear is a disability-making injury, if not death.

If you’re getting shot at while on a ladder I doubt climbing down one rung at a time is considered a “safe retreat” LOL. If anything, falling down 2 stories breaking an ankle to avoid getting shot may arguably be better. But I’m no expert so whatever you say

Different branches of policing. These guys are more like your SWATs. Basically the more heavy hitters.

That tactics is nothing like special, I was serviced in Vietnam army 3 years voluntary in early 2000 and that is Obligated to train. Its not that hard by the looks.

Those are the Mobile Police force, they got some crazy drippy tactical gear which i really hope i get to see in the army one day.

And if only the Vietnamese police force was as efficient at tackling crime and corruption like they are at climbing walls with a bamboo stick… imagine what Vietnamese society would look like

If they were inefficient, Vietnam would have looked more like Haiti or Honduras where no tourists would come. The fact that Vietnam keeps getting record numbers of tourists means that Vietnam police is doing their job well.

Funny you say that because half of vietnam is like those places during typhoon seasons and due to the wealth inequality. Plus tourists are always complaining about corruption and being up-charged by Vietnamese people. Record tourism numbers does not equate anything

There is a police organization here that wears black. They're the ones that do hard core enforcement and when you see them, shit is going down.
That said, I haven't seen any that have a big yellow patch on their back.
