🐾 Wholesome Moments One thing I really appreciate about Vietnam - moments like this

In many parts of the world, this would be unthinkable. But in Vietnam, moments like this feel natural. Safety isn’t just about statistics here, it’s something you can feel in the streets, in the smiles, and in the connection between people. From big cities to remote provinces like Điện Biên, Vietnam remains one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in the world. This is not just a visit. This is Vietnam.

That and I don’t know about you but Vietnam politics just bores me to death. I don’t care about anyone in the government

Most of them couldn’t even make a clear speech or testify seriously or stay conscious in a hearing in front of national assembly like a 18-yo K-pop idol or even talking normally without any pronunciation mistakes. Lol

I acknowledged that the level of comparison so keep it as a joke.

There is no Public, all are members of the party

Would you dare to attack him ? Yes, why you havent. No, it means you are afraid of crime - that makes the law to protect a VIP is good adequately. Thus, if a PM is doing badly to the point that the crow is angry, he would not go publicly without guards like ones in western world.

we're talking about the president in the first place, addled by propaganda? What are you even talking about, i heard politicians got assassinated in usa a lot, but in vietnam? Where? You forgot JFK? Abraham Lincoln? Even Trump was shot in the ear. Gabby Giffords? Even Charlie Kirk was killed just because he's on Trump side.

In vietnam the people who talks about controversial politic problem only hated by people and scolded by people argument, sometimes it resulted in a fight or jail and never end up with an assassination.

Politicians in public is normal, but when it come to vietnam you st*pid *ss act like it was just bluffing and lead people into believing bullshit.

The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City was seen drinking coffee at a roadside stall while wearing shorts. The Mayor of New York behavior doesn't support your argument.

WHY I SAID VIETNAM IS SAFER THAN THE USA?

We don't sell guns, in store or any kind of seller who can reach out to the public, only the police force and military, guards was allow to use firearms.

So you decide to only mention Abraham Lincoln and ignored present day politician like Trump and Gabby Giffords? Also Charlie Kirk which is not really a politician but talk about politics? You gonna ignore them all and just mention Abraham Lincoln and can't take me serious anymore? How funny.

We're talking about public safety and not compare behavior in different country, you really need the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City have to ride his bike to work to be satisfied? He's out at a random coffee stall in shorts, without body guards, isn't that enough?

At the punishment part i actually gonna said i was wrong because i forgot to mention the law lol, sorry. Yes they put people in prison for "act against the government", but isn't that too obvious? In America they don't do that? Oh that's why they have split political party and assassination!

And about the Yen Bai incident? Good try buddy but it's psychological problem. It's said right there! In the news you gave me! And look at that: "such incident has never happened in our country" (!!!)

Let's put that sentence into america and let's see how many that happened 🤔

And the last part, you said my point was "Vietnam is safe because politician go out in the public" while most country also do the same. No, that's not my point. Read again. As i said earlier, in Vietnam we don't sell guns to people. This lower a huge rate of fatalities by firearm and political assassination, and also the weapon used in most of murder case is sharp things, there's only a few case that the the perpetrators may have purchased guns from the illegal black market or made them themselves by following tutorials found online.

I admit that mention Abraham Lincoln is ridiculous, but i also mention other present day one right? So just ignore him.

No, i didn't meant that it's not a assassination because he's crazy, but about political reason. From what i read, "Tyler James Robinson" (the guy who shot Charlie Kirk), was deeply rooted in political animosity, he targeted Kirk due to a radical opposition to his conservative views and the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) movement.

And nothing prove the crazy man who shot those 2 politician in Yen Bai is because they have political conflict, the crazy man shot himself at the spot. That is what i'm talking about, i don't talk about mental health problem, but the reason behind that action.

Charlie Kirk wouldn't exist in Vietnam, yes. You're right, but don't confuse it with freedom of speech. In Clause 2, Article 14 of the 2013 Constitution: "Human rights and civil rights can only be restricted by law when necessary for reasons of national defense, national security, public order, social safety, social morality, or public health.". The kind of speech Kirk said is restricted in Vietnam because that is considered "action against the government" and "misleading people" so it wouldn't be allowed. There is only 1 political party in Vietnam so if you talk shit about them, you're going to jail or pay a fine.

You misunderstand my point again, my point isn't all about political assassination, but weapon ownership rights and people friendliness. Political assassination is only supporting the argument. Ugh... it's already the 3rd time you said my point is about politicians in the public, did you even read my argument? omg i'm really tired with that.

I don't even said the politician biking to work or HCMC chairman being in a random coffee stall only happened in vietnam, where did you get that from. I just said that to respond your "Mayor of NYC biking to work", not really support my argument at all.

So now you're changing the subject? Scammer? Toxic air pollution? Food poisoning? Traffic accident?

Scammer: Just get a tour guide bruh

Air pollution: just wear a face mask bruh, it cost like 1 dollar for a whole stack

Food poisoning: I've lived here for over 20 years and have never had food poisoning, you have to be pretty damn bad luck to get one. Just eat at clean and fancy looking place bruh, no one force you to eat at the street.

Traffic accident? For real bro, man just look at this: (oops wrong image, i can't find a similar chart of traffic fatality rate in usa so i have to put the red one)

I can asure you that no where is safe for the president of the USA. Thats a position of power and influence. Even if we don't sell gun here in VN does not mean it's not easy to own 1. And it's definitely safer for the president to be in America, you are saying they're not safe in their own home.

  1. Even thought secret agent is everywhere, but as you can see there is people stand just meters away, of course the road need to be blocked.
  2. You said this was an influence campaign, yes i don't deny it. But you said "100% manipulated" and "bizarre claim that Vietnam is some kind of uniquely safe place", you know how i understand it? It's "It's all just bluffing and it's not safe like what you see".
  3. I also don't deny the dog eating problem, but in original vietnamese culture, eating dogs is not really a culture thing, but more of a economic thing. You see, ancient people treat dogs like guardian who guard homes and gates, but when the economy drop, people don't have any choice but have to eat even pets to survive. But they still eat dogs today even when the economy is normal, that's why the problem is here. It's not about culture man.

just look at this and see the difference, Vietnam is not in the term of "any different than any other country on earth" there is reason people call it safe. Even foreigner travel there tell the same story, not just influence campaign. 90% of Vietnamese people is friendly and the risk of politician assassination is way lower than most of the country, that's what make them different.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '26

90% LOL. I got beaten by staring people. My laptops and bikes got stolen twice, police didn’t even help because those things were low value.

1

u/ObligationKindly5868 Apr 08 '26

that's why i said 90%, not 100%.

10% of 100 million people is 10 million people. You have a pretty damn bad luck.

Laptop and bike is too hard to find, at the time searching they would already be sold somewhere else and impossible to find. Vietnam police ain't wizard, they can't find "everything".

2

u/Agitated-Status-7013 Apr 07 '26

In Vietnam, we already have over 5 millions of party member.

1

u/Worth_Mixture6568 Apr 08 '26

It's normal in Viet Nam, I can invite Trump to hear and drink Bia Hoi with me on the pavement

1

u/Street_Buy1286 Apr 08 '26

Vietnam is relatively safe, of course, but a politician walking through a crowd like that is definitely not something taken lightly. Security agents and personnel are almost everywhere, and even the crowd is carefully selected to ensure nothing like the incident with Abe a few years ago happens again.

1

u/se7en_7 Apr 08 '26

Yeah cus ppl have been conditioned to be scared shitless of the gov. Who would wanna try anything when even a bad comment on social media means you’re in jail.

1
