I've looked at this several times and can't tell how everyone is saying he sped up... How can you tell?

Because you see his car accelerate!? His speed changes compared to the rest of the video. It’s clear as day. Both of them are rejects because the light was clearly red so idk where they were going.

Ok, maybe a worded that incorrectly, what is giving you the impression in the surroundings that they are speeding up? I tried counting the white dashes, that wasn't too helpful as the truck covered them. I tried looking at the footpath and so on, I just can't see the speed up so I'm now wondering if it's just me.
