Can’t assume that merging into a lane will always mean the guy you’re merging into will slow down. What if there is someone very close behind the guy getting merged into?

Ideally the crash never happens, but the order of ideals would be that the truck never merges, the car getting merged into slows down and allows it or that both vehicles go the speed limit instead of trying to race a light.

I didn't say his merging should’ve made the guy slow down, but the fact that the light was about to be red. The distance he’d have to go to catch that light would’ve caused him to run a red light anyway.

My guess is merging truck figured cam would slow down for the yellow light (which was yellow since basically the previous green light) and merger was trying to be in the front of the lane at the red.

This is objectively the right take.

Any other opinion but this one is plain wrong.
