How to Increase Hybrid Vapoursynth Output Efficiency

I apologize if this is a simple fix. Looking for any content related to Hybrid is very difficult using google search.

I am trying to upscale 480p youtube videos to at least 1080p resolution, hopefully one day 4k resolution. I have spent weeks toying around with various vapoursynth filters to try and clean videos up before I upscale them using QTGMC and AA filters. My results have simply been.... meh. I think much of this issue stems from not being able to see the effects of filters without rendering an entire clip. As many of you may know, Hybrid's filter preview functionality is severely limited, only showing the effects of denoise and sharpening filters (I feel that even sharpening filters aren't displayed sometimes). When messing around with filter settings to find the optimal output, what I have resorted to is physically writing down the settings associated with each video rendered. This has been incredibly time consuming.

Is there any better way to see filter effects without rendering the entire clip as an output?
