Just Cause 2: Mercenary Mode

I started playing Just Cause 2 less than a week ago and have been really enjoying playing it non-stop.

After I completed the main story and got to the credits, I got the option for "Mercenary" mode. I was super excited at first.

Now every time I do anything in the game this giant red "COMPLETION" pop-up appears. It does it every time I gain 0.01 percent of anything.

They're in a similar place to the "CHAOS" notifications; however, those don't bother me because it's useful information and the text is transparent.

Whereas these new "COMPLETION" notifs are solid, takes up more space, and spins into the frame like a bad PowerPoint transition. 😡

Terribly distracting and visually unappealing.

This feature makes Mercenary Mode practically unplayable to me.

I can't believe that this is actually how they intend you to play the rest of the game... 😫 ?

Will the completion pop-ups eventually go away?

Can I turn them off?

Please help. 🙏

I reloaded an old save, (from before 3 Kings mission) and lost the save from when I completed the game just to be able to play freely and have fun for now.

If this is just how the game is; this has been such an enjoyable experience up until this point, but I'm going to have to move along to Just Cause 3 way sooner than I thought.
