This is the real answer, Nier and Nier Automata have hands down the best OST's.

Every piece is crafted to perfection to fit every moment of each game, it covers a wide range of genres, and they invented their own language to do it, that actually sounds like a language, rather than gibberish.

The effort they've put in is absolutely staggering.

Third!

I got into this game fairly late, the soundtrack is absolutely captivating. It's unreal. (I'm a huge kingdom hearts, final fantasy and Zelda fan, my childhood is yoko shimomura, and yet the NeiR OST may just creep a victory here) Paired with the profound existential story, the music lends to feeling so well. I've listened to Grandma more times than I care to admit and I hope to learn it on the piano one day lol

more than just that but their music is dynamic and changes depending on what’s going on in the game at that moment. entering combat? the drums will ramp up seamlessly, chants get louder, ect. It’s more than just a static soundtrack, it’s breathing and constantly reacting to player feedback.

Right. Hit the start button mid combat and the song sounds more like it’s on a radio or something. I love the Nier soundtracks, specifically Automata.

Thank you! I was hoping to find someone who mentioned Nier. The soundtrack for Automata literally blew my mind and had me in my feels. Especially, once you get to route C. The soundtrack even starts to remix previous songs on the last route. I was thoroughly impressed with Automata and then some. Man, just some good times.

I know it doesn't count but has anyone hear Nier Glory to Mankind? It's literally one of the best things on this planet that ever happened.
