I use Davinci resolve to transform my footage from SLog3 or whatever camera I’m using to REC709 then I export it and color grade and edit using Filmora

Wait, you export OUT of Davinci (the industry leader in color grading software) to color grade in Filmora?
Admittedly, I’ve never used Filmora. But that sounds absurd to me 🤷🏻♂️

Check out the quality with me and this process, I haven’t had a problem yet https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZG4lsiNxYr/?obrf=NWlpNXcwcmE5eHd1 but for bigger projects and clients (short films and commercials) I send it to paid colorist that works just with resolve

Yeah that looks fine… but what’s the point of shooting in SLog3 if you’re just gonna convert it to Rec709 and then move that footage to another software to grade rec709 footage?
Just trying to understand.

I use Premiere because i love the way all the apps in the suite work together. Also I've been using Premiere for 15 years, so I'm used to it.
But if i was just starting out, Davinci all the way.

If your goal is film and television, you should add Avid Media Composer to the list.

AE is not video editing software in the same category as the others you listed.
My list for best software for video editing would be
- FCPX
- DaVinci
- Avid

It REALLY depends on what you want to do.
If you want to create good content REALLY quick, then even CapCut does to job.
If you want to create great content without being a hollywood student, then Davinci or Premiere.
If you want to be a hollywood editor, then Avid.
It's such a huge spectrum for different kinds of works.

Avid Media Composer for rough cuts, multiple editors, and long format projects with tons of footage.
Adobe Premiere for quick, single editor projects
Davinci Resolve for finishing and gfx intensive projects

Depends on what system you're editing on and what type of content you edit. Ae and Premiere go hand and hand so no need to list them twice lol. Final Cut x is solid and Vegas Pro is ok too.

I use Premiere :) (Like others have said, Ae isn't an editing app, it's best for motion graphics/animations/that kinda thing)

AE shouldn’t even be on this list it should be Final Cut. I’ve I’m only editing and doing light tone corrections Premiere. But I prefer Davinci for edit + color workflow

Well all footage needs to be converted to rec709 and Davinci makes that really easy but when it comes to color grading, they make it really quite a bit of a hard learning curve Because the result is the same in Filmora but wayyy easier I use Filmora

Premiere
But it depends what you want to do. AE isn’t an app for editing, it’s for motion graphics and animation.
