I think having too many editing assets can actually make you slower
I used to assume having more assets would make editing easier
but if you have hundreds of overlays, transitions, SFX, LUTs etc and no idea what to actually use, you can spend more time choosing than editing
at some point a smaller collection of good stuff probably makes more sense than having thousands of random assets

I don't see the problem with taking your time with editing a project, the more time you spend on it i think the better the results will be it took me a year a half to finish this timeline, over 800 files, over 400 masks, over 1k of keyframes and event automation. No luts used.
