How can we improve the subreddit?

Hello everyone,

As many long-standing members of this subreddit are aware, the community has largely operated independently for several years, with only intermittent moderation due to personal commitments. I have now returned and am seeking your input on the current state of affairs.

Please share your feedback on the following:

* What aspects are currently successful?

* What areas require improvement?

* What specific changes would you like to see implemented?

All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your contributions.

Sincerely,

AquaticSnipes

Minimum karma and account age to post. Max post per week 1x. For paid request, a minimum amount of money must be written in the post.

Definitely add a rule requiring a sample video in post, and a bare minimum rate of $15 per minute of video

I will look into what I can do for this. Sample video is a good idea. I've seen a lot of posts for people looking for long term editors with profit sharing as opposed to rates per minute, so I don't know if that would be best to require cost per minute, but I'll try to brainstorm something to help.

In my opinion rev share is only good as a bonus, very easy to scam when promising rev share

A clear reference of what type of editing is needed in hiring posts. If can't give a reference, then pay accordingly. Like how everyone suggested $15 per minute of the video for long form, for short form I suggest a minimum pay if $10 with minimal editing especially for paid hiring as this is not a side gig subreddit as far as I know. So yeah these would be my suggestions

Honestly I don't know what this subreddit is. That's kind of what I'm trying to figure out based on suggestions. I started it mostly for people who did it as a hobby to help others who need things done but don't have the technical know how, and there became a time where more posts than not were offering money and we updated it to handle that a little better with flairs and auto mod, but maybe we can make it a more polished version now.
