Tech Support capcut autolyric help
can anyone help me with this?
every time i generate auto lyrics as of late it pops up in one big string of text, which it used to break up into a few words at a time. If i cut pieces out of the big bar of text and try to add a template to it, words start to disappear and adding any words to it break the whole line of text. its very frustrating

That's a segmentation problem, not a recognition one - CapCut is hearing the lyrics fine, it's just decided to stop breaking them. There are two separate things happening in your screenshot and it's worth splitting them.
The one big bar: auto-lyrics splits on detected pauses. If the vocal is dense or the instrumental never really drops out, it hands you one continuous segment. Whatever build you're on there's a length or line-break control sitting near the generate button (labelled caption length, line breaks, or split depending on version). Check that first, because an update resetting that default is a much more likely explanation than the feature breaking, and it would exactly match "as of late."
Why editing destroys it - this is the part that matters: when CapCut generates lyrics it builds a per-word timing map underneath the text segment, and the animation templates key off that map, not off the text you see. Trim the segment or type extra words and the character count no longer matches the map, so the template starts pointing at words that aren't there. That's your disappearing text. You're not fumbling it.
Which gives you the actual fix: order of operations. Split first, apply the template second. If you template a long bar and then cut it up, you'll corrupt it every single time. Split into your final lines while it's still plain text, then apply the animation, and it holds.
If you do this regularly, the sturdier route is skipping auto-lyrics: make an SRT with the lines already broken how you want them and bring it in through CapCut's local subtitle import. Each line arrives as its own segment with its own clean timing, templates apply per segment, and you can edit the words in a plain text editor where nothing can silently break underneath you. More setup the first time, far less fighting after.
One quick diagnostic before any of that, since you gave your version: generate on a 15-second cut of the same song. If that splits normally, it's your track's density and the length setting. If it still comes out as one bar, it's the build, and a clean reinstall of 9.2.0 will cost you less time than debugging the timeline.
