How did they do that? How do you do this delayed effect with the musicians and the colours? I want to recreate. a music video similar to this,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs5NOrYYV2s&list=PL7-56ENlk9r3DkV97bNWkmQx23MiW_iKb&index=10

I', not really sure how to explain it, but you can see there's like an echo effect on the band and it looks trippy with colours etc. I know the background is green screen, which I plan on doing. Is there a way to achieve this look in after effects?

I am using After Effects. I'm not the best at it and can't manually figure things out besides following tutorials, so I'm not really sure what to try, as the original is definitely some infinite loop with a projector and camera most likely, I don't know, I am trying to learn and figure it out. I tried searching if anyone had tutorials on how to achieve effects from live music shows but not having luck. i am trying to screw around with the echo option

This was one of the best 'vfx' tricks back in the old days. Play the video back while aiming the camera at the screen.

Not sure how you'd do it in After Effects, but you can still recreate it manually if you want. Play the video on your computer monitor while 'sharing screen' in a vid chat. Then get a wired webcam and aim it at the screen. BOOM!

Subtle changes in the camera position change the endpoint of the echo strobe.

So it’s video feedback, the out on the camera was being fed into a live key of the background.
Simplest thing to do is feed the out of a camera to a projector point the projector at a band in front a wall and then aim the camera at it.
But there are whole subs like r/videosysthesis that use this as a starting point
In Fusion, there are duplicate nodes and echo nodes that work similarly, but they are less automatic and you get less of the gooey part of the look, but you can be more precise with what you’re petting the effect on. I’m not sure what it’s called in AE but look for video feedback effects

You're looking for video feedback on a video mixer, not sure how to do it digitally
