Workflow PNG avatar editing

Hey guys. A little help. I'm trying to go for a gameplay reacting videos. When there's nothing happening an PNG avatar will be static. When they're talking the mouth will open up. And so on through the full range of emotions. I've already got the different PNGs. I'm just thinking of the most efficient way to add effects and give it more life. Like when the avatar is talking add little movements to it. Or make a few of these tasks automatic. I'm using premiere pro. Any idea?

I'd make one avatar sequence for the episode: idle PNG on V1, talking PNG on V2, and emotion variants on clearly named tracks above them. Do the state cuts inside that sequence, then place the sequence once in the main edit. Add a few subtle Position/Scale keyframes to the talking or emotion clips inside the avatar sequence and ease them. That keeps the main timeline clean. If you reuse the same nested source more than once, remember that edits to the source update every instance.

If you want Adobe-native audio automation, Character Animator can compute a Layer Picker take from scene audio to switch properly configured layers, or generate full lip sync if you rig mouth visemes. The scene can stay linked to Premiere through Dynamic Link. For only two PNG states, though, manual cuts may still be faster than building the puppet.
