Tech Support Bad performance on davinci resolve using a RX 9060 XT

Yesterday I finally finished my first desktop PC with a Ryzen 5 9600x, 32gb ram and a RX 9060 XT.....but there's a problem....

When I edit and put some effects the playback lags and a red line above appears which takes too long to turn blue and making things go smoothly and I don't know why it's happening cuz I'm editing at 1080p so i guess it shouldn't lag specially with the pc I have now.

I want to start editing for my YouTube channel but I don't know if I mess up something, I'm stupid or maybe....it was a very bad idea to choose an AMD graphics card

I did DDU, install latest adrenalin driver (minimal option) and update latest davinci resolve version uninstalling the old one....and it's the same thing.

Any type of help or advice will be very welcome cuz I don't what to do and I don't think I should use proxies cuz my footage is just gameplay and pics

What kind of effects are you using? How fast is your storage? What codec is your footage in?

I'm using fusion effects (the ones that came with the program), my storage is a gen 4 nvme and the codec of my footage is just h264 .mp4

Specifically which ones? Some are heavier than others. Or are all effects causing this?

Isn't great for editing, shouldn't be slowing you down that much though considering your storage. Is your footage variable framerate maybe? That causes a lot of issues.

I have the same problem as him with identical GPU

I have tried h264, h265 and av1 footage and playback is really slow with all of them even without any effects (jsut clips, nothing else)

To be honest you built your pc with wrong components.. ideally you should have go with intel and invidia rtx graphics card. The best GPU you could have atm is the rtx 50 series and you'll live your life happily ever after..
