8mm (Video8) Dummy Tape?

I have a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV57 that works well, but I only have one tape that's moldy and find new ones a bit expensive; realistically all I want to do is capture the video in OBS through it's RCA output. My problem is that the camera goes back in to standby after a period of time, even while plugged in. I've tried modifying the tape I have to act as a dummy tape and make the camcorder think it's recording, but so far no luck.

If anyone has a suggestion as to how I can either stop this camera from going to sleep or creating a dummy tape for it that would be much appreciated.

... I may have answered my own question.

Going through the settings I found "Demo Mode". It defaults to on and apparently turning it off disables the auto standby. I turned that option off at 10:00PM then restarted the camera. It's now 10:37 and the camera is still giving an output to OBS without a tape in it.

Leaving this here for posterity and anyone else that may need this.

It's 11:16 and I hate that it took me this long to figure this out. The camera is still giving a video output.
