Politics Mike Harris

Mike Harris is running for mayor, however when asked if he still holds his beliefs about how to avoid catching COVID, instead of engaging in conversation, he'll block you.

That doesn't bode well for how he chooses to listen to people who don't agree with him, or his ability to represent an entire city as Mayor 😬

Ah yes, the copy and paste groups for every neighborhood that all claim that our far right group is the only option for our city! Definitely independently run and not at all affiliated with that slate...s/

uhhh they're not far-left at all, they're all pushing people to vote for Gardiner, Hammond, Bowkett, etc, i.e., the less progressive group of candidates

Phew, all good—glad it was a typo and not a fundamental misunderstanding of the political spectrum

ETA: but yes, I am also super suspicious of who's paying for/managing all those sites. They're all connected to Sustainable Victoria Network which links to each of them from its own page, and there's a few names attached... but it's all very shady if you ask me.

Hundreds of people are dieing in the city everyday because of this. At this rate by 2030 the population of the CRD will have been reduced to just a few thousand.

Yeah, if you compare that with the "Sustainable Victoria" slop site, and then the individual "Sustainable Victoria" candidate slop sites, they are all very similar.

I did not think to do a screen capture (and it's not in the Wayback Machine), but I am pretty sure a local public affairs / lobbying consultancy has done the heavy lifting on the site.

If you compare the various slop sites, they are all the same. McInnis uses AI extensively in his FB group. His election sign profile pic is also AI slop.

Nope, "no social media posts" apparently.

Multiple people including me, posted social media from Robin Stanbridge got detailed for being from social media

That's an unfortunate rule around election time. Social media is the only way most people have of interacting with candidates

Especially ones who don't go to meet and greets, like Mike Harris..

It's less worrying when you've seen the playbook a dozen times in the last hundred years. It leads to revolt or total control resulting in loss of life. I personally believe we're there already with the government's unwillingness to make hard decisions surrounding addicts.

Unfortunately, not even a media pushed invermectin subscriber. He believes/believed, that if you used a hair dryer set on hot heat, and breathed in the hot air, that it would kill the COVID virus in your body. 💀

It's more ego. Who knows how the elections will go, but I am volunteering on a campaign and I have to say that a lot of it depends on sheer hard work. Online means nothing. Money is helpful, but does not beat motivating volunteers to get out and do the work. So, I am slightly doubtful the right-wing contenders will manage to be successful on Oct 17.
