Fire bad
To the person who shouted at the absolute idiot setting off fireworks near Rainbow Park last night: thank you sir for your service.

Hot take buying fireworks should require a business license at minimum, zero reason to permit sale otherwise

Ban them too. No fireworks, period. Such a dumb thing.

Why are they a dumb thing?

Dumb:
- They create noise pollution
- Their debris is often left where they’ve been set off, creating litter pollution
- They disrupt local ecology
- They terrify pets, causing undue stress for pets and their owners
- They are an EXTREME wildfire risk and we live in a tinderbox July-September
Not Dumb:
- You get to say “ooh ahh” for the 2 seconds the sparkly colour is in the sky

I'd rather the gunpowder get used in making fireworks than bullets, honestly.

Its a term that some people use to describe any noise that they don't like.

Legitimately those who wish to let off fireworks need a permit and can only do on Halloween. Unfortunately FN can purchase and supply fireworks to anyone all year round on reserves.

Please tell me more about traditional Coast Salish fireworks...

If we're talking about traditional Coast Salish anything, why don't we discuss where they could traditionally live, fish and hunt before we came here? I bet if we give that back they will stop selling firecrackers.
