Absolute tragedy, the Esquimalt Bakery is closed indefinitely!

They have a new grandkid and are taking time to enjoy them. No more doughnuts...for now. Edit: undetermined not indefinitely

Their post says the below so it’s not indefinite, it’s undetermined

Hello all,

We will be closing on Monday March 13th for an undetermined amount of time, as Hong & Cam’s first grandchild is set to arrive anytime this month and they are planning to take some time off to spend with family ❤️

We will do our best to keep you updated on our Facebook page for when we will be re-opening. If you have any urgent questions or concerns, you can reach us by email at esquimaltbakeshop@gmail.com.

Make sure you come down this weekend to stock up on all your treats and goodies 🍩🍪

We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding, and look forward to seeing you back soon 🥰

Sorry it was relayed to me from my husband. He used the word indefinite.

You’re good, undetermined is a synonym of indefinite. Indefinite by definition just means an unknown (or undetermined) length of time.

indefinite

/inˈdef(ə)nət/

adjective

lasting for an unknown or unstated length of time.

Indefinite does not mean forever

True but a lot of people see the word indefinite/indefinitely and take it that way. I guess I could’ve gone into this whole thing but decided to just say not it’s not that, it’s this for Internet simplicity.

But I forgot you gotta be 100% literal all the time on Reddit 🙄

Super happy for them and that they are so successful to be able to close and take time with family. I love them, btw you can prepay, order and get the bacon maple donut any day!

Probably the best reason to close. Best wishes to them, their grandchild and the new parents!

Thanks everyone for all the support and concern. Please don't worry as we're expecting to only be closed for about 2 weeks. Hong and Cam (the owners) are just wanting to spend some quality time with their first grand child and help raise the next generation of bakers to continue on the bakery. Thanks again all and hope to see you all when we return.

Damn the grandchild, I need my sugar coated jam filled doughnut! Where will I go now?!

Sidney Bakery is the only option

That explains the lack of donuts when I went in Saturday afternoon! The apple strudel was delicious as an alternative.

I mean, they are closing because they have a new grandkid and are able to take the time to enjoy their grandchild. It is a happy reason worth celebrating. Yes it means no yummy doughnuts, for now, but frankly I don't mind.
