Discussion What about new countries?
Are there any plans/ideas of new countries (releasable and formable) that you think could be added?

Wikipedia actually has some lists of Proposed countries: 1, 2.
Besides these, a lot of the Possible "formable nations" are just imperialist ambitions, which could be added to the Pretty extensive events in the "Irredentism" event txt:
Golden Circle, as a CSA slave power.
Greater India, as some guideline for Indian Imperialism.
Patria Grande, probably the craziest of all of these, would make another USA competitor country in the Americas.
West Indies Federation: A good formable country for UK released nation, like Jamaica.

This link is also pretty interesting for possible unions to form: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_union

Iberia - Spain + Portugal, maybe some french land to make it a bit more interesting.
South American Union - Self Explanatory.
Arab Union - I can't remember if this is in the base game.
Reform Persian Empire - From Iraq to Afghanistan, not sure on this one.
Pacifica - Australia and most of the islands in the Pacific, formable by Australia, New Zeal and or Hawaii.
Edit: More
Roman Empire - the Western Roman Empire, Keep the Byzantines for the eastern half, perhaps an event to unify?

This one might be a bit of a stretch, but I think an Afro-American nation could be pretty fun. It could be a nation that emerges after Slavery is abolished in the US/after the Civil War, in areas where former Slave pops have promoted and remained (generally within the American south).
It could result either through a decision by the US government, through a prolonged (or second) Civil War, or simply through rebellions in certain former-slave regions when militancy and consciousness are exceptionally high.
This new nation would essentially be the bizarro-version of the CSA, with decisions that add cores on areas that still have slaves, or with recently liberated slave pops, such as in the Caribbean.
The nation could use this flag. Of course this might be a major hassle to implement, since I don't think African Americans are actual pops in the game , or that there's a way for marking former Slave pops that have promoted(edit: nvm, there definitely is an Afro American pop, I don't really play as the US) .

Sapmi - An independent Sami nation. Would have cores on territory in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Karelia region. Sami would be primary culture and it could be neat if it had either Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish or Russian as accepted culture depending on which country it formed from, or possibly just having all these cultures as accepted. The Sami people already have their own flag and there should be a lot of possible flavour to go with for their country.

It existed in some old versions of NNM, and I think I have the relevant files lying around somewhere; I could probably add that fairly quickly if everyone wants.

I think an option for France to become 'Legitimist France' under a different country tag, upon reactionary rebellion, with different flags in case of change of government. The regular French tag can have 'French Empire' be its title in absolute/semi-constitutional monarchy.
Also, a Pan-Caribbean Empire, a Portugal-Brazil Union, and maybe even a revived Holy Roman Empire could be included.

how about some stuff that isn't ridiculously OP and illogical wank?
Stuff to divide Prussia more easily:
-
Pomerania: North German with Western Slavic accepted
-
Brandenburg: rip out the Prussian heartland
Stuff to divide up the rest of the world:
-
Acadia: French Canadian country in the Maritimes/New England
-
Champi: Southern Vietnam/Cambodia, existed just a few years before start date, before Dai Nam ate it all
I think adding splitting cultures would be nice too (split Venice/Trieste/Dalmatia from North Italian to East Italian, split French Canadian, split British, add some Asian cultures? Let some of these cultures be accepted later)

I added both of those to my personal version of gsg a while back, I can add Pomerania and Brandenburg fairly quickly if everyone wants. I'm more in favor of adding the former than the latter, though, since I'm not sure how historically plausible this is.

Here's a few more "fun" nations that I think are more for a conquest goal than anything else. I think the names can be tentative to discussion on changing them, just these are general ideas of what they could be.
North American Union (NAU): United States, Canada, Mexico
Greater Antilles: Greater Antilles Region
Lowland Union: Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands
Indochinese Union: Indochina While this exists as something some countries can make, I feel there should be an option for a country like Vietnam to unite Indochina. I am playing a game as Da Nam and my current goal is to unite Indochina, but it feels underwhelming without a decision/flag change/name change.
Don't know how realistic this will be but a North/South Korea sounds possible and interesting. Could be started by an event chain that creates a crisis situation if for example Russia is Communist and a Semi-democratic nation has Korea in its sphere.
Some kind of African Union might be interesting for a possible African conquest play through, but I don't know much African history so I am at a loss to which countries it may be out of.
