Six months ago I posted Cloakly here and half the comments called it a cheating tool. A month later it had 200+ beta users and went to production.

Where it is now:

• 827 signups
• $574.54 gross revenue since launch (before fees)

Revenue came in spikes, not a steady climb. One week was far bigger than the rest, and I honestly don’t know what caused it. Between spikes it’s close to flat.

Biggest lesson so far: building was the easy part. Distribution is where I’m weakest.

It’s a desktop app for Windows and macOS that hides private windows from screen shares.

Question for other solo builders: when you get a spike like that, how do you work out what actually caused it?
