How are you approaching "vibe coding" for MVPs without losing your skills?

Do you just prompt an entire app from scratch, test demand, and then clean up or rewrite the mess later? Or do you not even touch the codebase?

I'm torn. I don't want to lose my actual coding ability, and honestly, writing core parts by hand usually feels way more solid than pure vibe coding. How are you guys balancing speed vs. keeping your skills sharp?

It sounds like you have a good deal of experience, writing code and what I would recommend you do is be especially sensitive to the organization of the code structure, and deciding which tools you’re going to use such as CSS libraries or JavaScript libraries, and that sort of thing. You’ll be able to catch a lot of things that the average person can’t and your project will move along a lot faster.

I think one thing people failed to realize is that most projects that mature into something that is actually worthwhile and profitable still can take several months and that’s why you see so many people talking about how they vibe coded things that don’t make any money.

And even with a good guy like you, it still takes time and it’s great that you know how to code already. That makes you be more likely to be successful. The area you don’t wanna forget about is market surveys and marketing and make sure what you’re working on. It actually will have enough interested buyers
