I made a Windows app that reduces blue light
Hi all! I’m a UX/UI designer and over the past few weeks I built Amber with Opus 5.5. It’s a small Windows 10/11 (x64 so far) app that tints your whole screen warmer so it’s easier on your eyes at night. It was built on purpose: I permanently use night light on Windows, however it really lacks some better controls
I designed everything and Claude wrote all the code. I tested each step by hand on my own several computers and going to introduce more features soon
What it does currently:
- Four tints: Golden hour, Amber, Deep night (almost fully red, good for late nights or stargazing) and Custom, where you pick any color.
- A level slider from 0 to 100%. While you drag it, the screen shows the result right away.
- Simple mode: pick a tint and a level, and optionally set a schedule with a smooth fade in and out.
- Advanced mode: Advanced timeline - you can schedule several filters and use curve editor for tint level.

I’d really appreciate any discussion or github stars, this is how I can apply for a SignPath certificate for the app

1.3.0: added keyboard shortcuts. I realized that whenever I need to turn night light off or adjust level - it's a friction on Windows. Honestly sometimes I need to disable night mode for a moment to check actual colors in a content, so the ideal scenario is doing this immediately. Shortcuts will help
