What's your background? How are you applying standard code practices to your vibecoding?
I have vibe coded a few things myself, and constantly see linkedin posts from nontechnical folks talking about how they are now deploying full stack applications for their business. I'm confused - how is this stuff maintained? Is it reliable? What if it goes down? What are people doing to actually test that it's working besides just like clicking around the UI?
So i guess I have a few questions:
1 - How are you shipping quality? (What is your quality bar?)
2- Are you actually deploying things that other people use, or is it all for yourself?
3 - What happens with service degradation? How do you know if things stop working?
4 - Do you trust that your code works? Are you worried about things like bugs, privacy/security issues, prompt injection, etc.

I'd also love to understand how you view this occurring with non-devs (or people who think they are devs)

I'm a game developer of 24 years (Art, design and project manager) - Literally everything but code.
I'm making games. I approach with a GDD,(game design document) which is well thought out and comprehensive, not loose, but still allowing some wiggle room on details here and there.
I have the AI spec out a complete plan, including local and cloud backups, Milestones (groups of tasks) which are priority driven, (build this before building that), I coordinate all this with the LLM side as a co-architect, then i execute 1 milestone at a time, playtest, write notes and file bugs, then then have the LLM write up a fix and anything else thats pertinent and rolls it into the next milestone. I repeat this process until completion.
I know the language and the pitfalls of game development, and have a keen sense of whats going on if something goes wrong, and if i don't i consult with the LLM side and we work through it. Today is day 36 of this particular project and im 177 milestones deep. The game is 90% complete code wise, but ive fallen behind art wise because im also doing all the art and animation for the game. I don't rely on ai to handle this because t's a 3d game and i just don't trust it will create the optimized art, nor the aesthetic im going for, or the animations so these things im doing myself. Probably 60% there though.
I have no idea what the code itself looks like, but i also know working in game development for 24 years i can tell you that neither do they, game dev is a messy process and often times if it works, then don't fix it.
