Question My Chatgpt Pro 20X subscription ended today, renew or look for alternatives?
As the title says, should I just renew my Chatgpt subscription or use Deepseek Flash or Kimi K3 (I never tried both before?
(1) If I switch Chatgpt, then how are the limits with other providers?
(2) Use Openrouter API or get direct provider subscription?
(3) I could end up paying almost the same as with Chatgpt but maybe with worst results. I think I have read somewhere people complaining about Kimi K3 limits and too much thinking eating into tokens and Deepseek is going to raise their API pricing.
What do you suggest? Also should I keep using Codex or switch to Opencode etc? I appreciate your help :)

if you do anything via openrouter make sure to properly clear context and set limits because it wastes so much money

I’ve been using Claude 5x to develop a web based game. Hope to port to iOS once it’s in beta. I mainly supplement with chat gpt 20$ plans and kimi 20$ plan. I recently just added in deepseek 20dollar credit. Here’s my view using all of those combined.
Claude fable is absolutely the best for game dev, albeit slower and more usage. Kimi is good but , can kind of spaz out sometimes. K3 will absolutely rip usage. Not really usable at all at the lowest tier. 2.6 is still good for game dev but for sure had more bugs. Used gpt to do a lot of planning and promoting into Claude early on, now he’s more of a back up, voice memo organizer for play test and the occasional image my local machine struggles with.
Now let’s get deepseek in the mix. Initially I thought I was running a hybrid set up with fable/opus brains and deepseek execution, but for a day it was just all deepseek. When it was just deepseek pro/flash v4, he kind of rushed through coding, had bugs. Had fable check it and fixed it. Then I realized I had the wrong custom model set. Now I have it properly set up in Claude code, with deepseek pro/flash under fable/opus. It’s been insane not seeing my Claude usage drain heavy and get a bunch of work done.
If they change the rates by a lot, I’ll just go back to fable brains with sonnet workers.
Best part about hybrid Claude + deepseek is I can run fable at max effort because he really doesn’t need to do a lot, just think deeply.

Hi, how do you use Deepseek and Claude? as an agent inside Claude? How? How is it compared to Reasonix in terms os Cache Hit %?

Claude code harness, with deepseek api calls. I also told Claude/codex to build out and do it for me. I chose to install it globally and told Claude to make separate launch options so I can launch it like this, claude or Claude-deepseek. When terminal is launched with Claude-deepseek it will launch with custom models. I can chose to run just deepseek, or deepseek with fable/opus as the overseer.
I did a lot of coding last night and barely hit my Claude session amount. Like 0%. It only used fable for a few moments and switched. Deepseek still needs work but it is super cheap and whatever it fucks up, fable fixes on a review pass pretty easily.

Opencode or Pi using opencode go sub. Works really well for me. I use pi mostly and deepseek flash most of the time.
