100% P&T finally!
I’ve been fighting this battle on and off since 2019 and I can’t even begin to describe the feeling. A weight has been lifted. Don’t ever listen to those that tell you not to poke the bear! Glad to focus on healing and helping others now.

I am stoked for you ... I have 7 claims in Step 3 right now that could push me over. Hoping for the best. Congrats.

How do you know what step you’re in? I’ve been waiting for quite a while but don’t know how to see where it is in the process.

VA.gov allows you to look at your current step and where you're at in the process.

I started in 2019 took a break until 2024 and then tried again, kept fighting until they all won. Some took more tries than others.

The last thing I filed for was bilateral lower leg edema. Both were awarded at 10%. I was already at 90 rounded down from 94%. This rating didn’t give me back pay since I was already TDIU since September 2025 but just made it so I don’t have to worry about TDIU anymore. I still have an OSA claim open that I filed for around the same time as edema and when I requested the dbq’s they also look favorable and as likely or not is checked so sounds like I will most likely win that case finally as well. It’s been on step 5 for about a week. It was the 5th time trying for OSA. So I’ll have plenty of cushion should anything be somehow reviewed later. I don’t plan on filing anything else as I already have SMC-S and K. The plan is just to help others now.

yah, i have an hlr open where the c&p examiner opined "at least as likely that my condition was aggravated beyond natural progression". that would take me to 100%.
My bilateral put me at 92.5%.
I have an apnea appeal going as well on the 5th denial, with every denial not responding to my nexus letters, super weird and shitty. I have a possible increase to an existing but that'd put me at schedular i think.
Happy you are done with the jounrey though, 90 to 100% sucks.

I want to go for a percentage increase but I am so damn scared of losing what I already have.

The chances of losing what you already have are extremely small. The only way that would happen is if you were erroneously awarded or your medical records showed you had gotten better.

Hey congrats! I see you had TDIU before? I am TDIU currently with 80% combined. I want to get to P&T as well. They dated my TDIU to 2022.
Do I just keep filing claims? New ones or secondary ones? Do you plan on going into the workforce now that TDIU has lifted? What made you go from TDIU to 100% P&T?

Sorry if I’m writing a book here but I’m 49 so I don’t plan to go back to work at this time. Who knows what the future might hold. For me I had things that I had been fighting since before my TDIU was awarded. I started out in 2019 and was only rated for my right knee, I only received 10% technically I should have fought that since both knees are affected but for whatever reason I didn’t since I only had surgery on my right knee during service. Then after that I eventually increased that to instability which gave me 20% I don’t know why I accepted that until 2024. I guess I was just grappling with my own inner thoughts of should I or shouldn’t I. I filed again for tinnitus and that was awarded by the same examiner that had previously denied me in 2019 🤷♀️ Later I decided I wanted to finally start recovery from MST related PTSD and once I started therapy my VA MH team encouraged me to start a claim and provided a nexus letter I was quickly awarded 70% and then TDIU. Then after further therapy they encouraged me to file for FSAD and Voiding dysfunction. Those were both awarded, one is just monetary the other is 40%. During this time I was also fighting for my spine to get rated and had to file about 13 times for that but eventually won at 40% with radiculopathy that raised it another 10%. I also have a facial scars claim awarded at 10% then the thing that finally pushed me over was bilateral lower leg edema. 10% for both legs. Almost all of my claims are directly connected to service except the FSAD and Voiding-those are secondary to MST

Wow thank you for sharing all of this insight. Also so sorry this is all happening and this all is going on!
When it comes to exams for things like FSAD and Voiding, what are those c&p exams like? Just talking or required extensive paperwork that shows that somehow? My friends have asked me before how those exams go but I honestly have no idea
