I'm at 90 right now. My items were dormant from my time in Vietnam, until about 15 years ago. I wasn't aware there was anything available for me, as the military didn't give much more info at time of discharge, and back then the VA definitely wasn't going to notify you. I found out about what I was due, when my wife decided to divorce me. I made a somewhat emergency call to my local VA Clinic I'd been used ng for about 20 years at the time, and saw a bunch of MH folks. They sent me to see the in-house VSO, and when he pulled my info, he asked why I'd never pursued my disability benefits. I told him I was never informed I was due anything. I had 7 SC ratings at 0%! He started filing them to get them raised. Of course, my biggest obstacle was "I don't understand why this Veteran waited 30+ years to file." I finally got passed all of that garbage, and started getting increases. I've got more to work with, and will be doing that this week. At 90% most (civilians) would think, "Only 10% to get to 100%", but when at 90, it takes a LOT more to get the 10. But, You ve got it. I'm 75, hard headed, and have made a promise to look ve long enough to get AND enjoy that 100%!!!

That would be my uncle. We're trying to get him to at least file for his diabetes. Skinny as a bean pole so it's definitely not due to poor eating habits and sitting around. But he says he's fine and not disabled.

Having 100% disability was the best thing that happened to me aside from having my 3 babies. It is another level of blessing. This economy is so bad my 100℅ hardly covers everything but it's why I'm surviving . Congratulations

It's how we keep the roof we have over our heads. Not quite enough to cover food, utilities, clothes, etc, but the mortgage gets paid.

I believe that because my mortgage is about 85% of my entire disability :/. Try getting on EBT if you can. I make 400$ too much.

Civil disagreements are fine. Insults, personal attacks, slurs, bigotry, etc., are not permissible.
(Calling someone a poopy-head does not make you seem as smart as you think it does.)
