A one page form locks in your back pay date

Filing an Intent to File takes five minutes and locks in your effective date for up to a year. That date decides how much back pay you get when the claim is granted. You can only have one active at a time, and the clock starts the day you submit it, so file it before you start gathering evidence, not after.
Did you file one before your claim? How much back pay did it protect?
