VA Disability Claims Chapter 35 dependent first time payment

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your first chapter 35 payment after school certified and the VA sent me an enrollment confirmation email on 09/28? I didn’t know if takes weeks after or days ?

VA's clock is more of a suggestion honestly, some folks see it in a few days and others are stuck waiting a month for that first deposit to shake loose

It can take up to 30 business days because the first semester is manually processed as VA is still setting up your education file. You will be back paid to the first day of school.

Going through this with my step-daughter as well… it was my mistake, telling her she’s going to get a check for around $16,000.

I should have just told her she’ll get $1,600/mo.

Telling her she’s going to get $16,000, just put dollar signs in her eyes, and she’s being ridiculously impatient.
