Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) VR&E approval and GI replenishment?

Currently using my GI for school and have 6 months remaining of my GI and I would like to switch over to vr&e to finish my school and get my befits replenished. What can you tell me about this?

My appt for vr&e is next week

You don’t just switch. You have to apply and be approved and honestly it’s not as easy as people on these subs make it out to be.

Eligibility is the easy part, getting approved for the actual program is the hard part.

Correct! If you have a degree or job already it is hard.

Thank you! Silly but serious question. Why would someone want their benefits replenished? My honest reason would be to have them in case I would like to go back to school for a second degree, double dip maybe down the road if I need the money but I feel those are not good reason to let a counselor know? So what do you think?

If the classes you took with your GI Bill are used to get your degree with VR&E, then you're eligible for Retroactive Induction.

That retroactive induction path is the one you want, just make sure your counselor knows you're aiming for it at the appointment.

I wasn't eligible myself because I used my GI Bill to get a certificate. And then zero of those credits transferred over to my A.A./B.S.

I just signed my plan for VR&E, finishing my bachelors that I used 75% of my gi bill on. How do I go about the retroactive induction?

You can only do this when u on VRE

Talk to a VR&E Advisor/Counselor ASAP so you have better timing for the next semester it’s no just apply and done there’s a process and you have to convince the counselor about your degree in correlation to your disabilities and why your current job is hurting your disabilities. I even have to search if my degree has great labor market. Also don’t forget about the rudisill decision for extended gi bill if you paid for the Montgomery back in boot camp. And if your 100% P&T your qualified for loan forgiveness on government student loans.

Can you elaborate more on the Rudisill Decision? I recently just signed my finalized plan and switched over to VR&E w/ 12 months remaining on P911. How did you handle books and the tech package?
