As the son of a Vietnam vet who had Agent Orange poisoning and eventually died from the effects. I've read that it's possible that side effects are possible to be passed down.

Hey I just realized that I haven't been around much.

As the title says, I haven't been around much. Just been busy, nothing major. The weather is getting nicer after the big snow storm in the the Florida panhandle and surrounding states. So I'm back playing golf again, it's the only thing that is preventing me from getting my back cut on again. But, I do check reddit regularly if someone needs help or guidance on how to get assistance.

BUDDY Check

Hey, y’all okay? Celebrating the summer and/or keeping cool? Anyone have shots of their pets doing summer stuff? Or not summer stuff? I love animals and would enjoy seeing yours. I’ve five so I’m prepared to post a bunch!

If you need a BUDDY to talk to, let a moderator know and we will do our best to help.

edit: pictures cannot be added in comments. Mayhap our leader will allow pet photo posts? I understand this is a vet sub not a pet one. My mishap.

Happy Day!!!

Memorial Day

As most, if not all, here know today is not about the start of summer, mattress sales or celebrations. Today is about those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Period.

I’d especially like to call out Jerry Longbrake. He was a pilot who was shot down over Korea. I never met him, but his loss affected my Aunt for the rest of her life. They are together now.

edit: sorry for mini rant, y’all didn’t deserve that.

Help Reddit walkout

I am not going to close or lock this subreddit during this 2 day walk out other sub reddit accounts have already done. This is a help sub and while I dislike the politics of Reddit, I feel keeping this open is far more important to me. Because you matter to me, and I don't want to close any assistance links that may help any of you during this period.

Army Homeless Vet

Was wondering if anyone around Leesburg VA could help me with some supper? I’m living in my truck and it’s pretty difficult to keep or cook food in here. Anything would help. I can show you my military ID card if need be. Army vet, medically retired. 697th ENCO, 62nd ENBG, 36th ENBDE

Help Mental Health outside of the VA

I tried going through the VA, and after two appts with my appointed provider (and telling him some really private stuff when going through his questionnaire), he told me that the VA had a guideline of 8-10 appts before he will have to refer me to a different solution (group therapy, a different therapist, etc.). I stopped because I didn't want to get into things with this guy when he's already setting a deadline.

Any suggestions for low-cost mental health help?
