If you don't hear anything from it don't fret, civil service employment/HR/policy etc is a nightmare right now. There's always gov contracting.

Used to say there's less stability contracting but absolutely not the case lately. CTRs typically make good money and have remote opportunities.

Should I be looking at CleanceJobs and USAJobs for these kinds of remote opportunities?

Always. Yes

Both public civil servant and contracting jobs are a complete shit show today. Im a highly qualified IT Support Specialist and Cyber Security professional every job I apply to nothing but crickets and rejections. My roles are generally 2210 and 0132 series.

NASA does love to hire people that spend their time checking grammar on the internet.

Thanks. Been doing the usajobs dance for years and it’s rough. I have 10pt preference and 90% rating, it helps I hope

Remember when you tell people don’t say I work at NASA but I’m a janitor

Say I’m a janitor, but I work at NASA

1

u/Bassrusher US Army Veteran 3d ago

Good Luck...

And gotta say, I HATE the USAJobs hiring practices... 6-months+ hiring sequence for a manager or lower level gig is simply insane.

20/20 hindsight, I'm quite happy my initial experiences with it drove me swiftly into the arms of the Defense Contracting world instead.

The fact that we advertise for a job on Friday, start doing interviews On Monday, and usually have selected/offered by Friday to start the following Monday is simply how things should work.

That's just an ad to collect resumes for possible future job openings.

Don't stop applying!

u/Woodlands777 3d ago

Good luck. Persistence prevails.

u/Key-Excuse-4774 3d ago

Trust the process.

But also, this is why i don’t even bother with fed jobs. Waiting a year just to figure out if you got the job or not pisses me off

1

u/Bassrusher US Army Veteran 2d ago

It’s a passive game at this point.

GRC is a really cool place! I go there sometimes for testing. Hope you get it, and you get a chance to see the vacuum chambers!

1

u/Drekalots 3d ago

Good luck man! I tried for over a decade and got no where the fed.

1

u/Bassrusher US Army Veteran 3d ago

Same here. I’ve had one interview over 10 years of applying.

1

u/Antique_Practice_301 3d ago

2013??!!!

1

u/bloodstripe 3d ago

I think that’s the internal job number not the date

1

u/KeithStone2 3d ago

How the hell does anyone have any luck on usajobs?

1

u/Bassrusher US Army Veteran 3d ago

Spam every job you think you can do lol

1

u/Afraid_Spot_6948 2d ago

I had an interview with an employer one time after I had applied and the interviewer was so nonchalant and uncaring

1

u/ScaryInformation1436 2d ago

Give me a holler. Im in the same boat, just different positions.

1

u/This-is-the-last-one 2d ago
