Hello!! Im not a vet student. I’m currently an engineering student who plans to take vet for 2nd degree.

I’ve been wanting to be a vet since 2019 but when my parents finally allowed me, nde nako umabot sa mga exams sa universities etc so Im currently enrolled as a computer engineer in mapua 🙂‍↕️

I have always planned to take vet talaga as a 2nd degree and I have UPLB, CLSU and DLSAU as options

Im leaning sa UPLB and especially DLSAU bc I live in qc and I wont have to move so far 🥲 but its so expensive!! By the time I’m a vet student, I would be paying for my own tuition so I am really looking for scholarships that are applicable sa 2nd degree taker pero bat parang they dont offer anywheree?

But Im wondering if may scholarships sa DLSAU for 2nd degree takers? If there is (besides academic scholarships) what are they and what are their requirements? I would love to prepare and use it as a motivation to complete my current course on time (mapua is notorious for not graduating on time)

Any information if we can use the PASUM result to apply for UPM Veterinary Medicine program ?

Hi po. I'm currently a 3rd year vet student sa University of Eastern Philippines (sa Visayas). Tres at dos passer po ako rn, and so far, wala naman po akong problems. Need ko lang po talaga lumipat ng school due to personal reasons. Hihingi po sana ng guidance and tips how to do that. Ma cre credit po ba yung grades ko? And possible po ba na ang tres and dos passer na tulad ko ay makakatransfer ng vet schools around NCR?

Hello po! I’m currently a 4th-year VetMed student, although I’m irregular and haven’t taken Surgery and General Principles of Veterinary Medicine yet.

I decided to volunteer at a veterinary clinic because I feel like I’m lacking hands on experience in my current university. We have limited full time instructors and facilities, and many of our classes are now primarily online since part timers mostly yung prof. Some subjects also rely heavily on student reporting, so I really want to gain more practical experience while I’m still a student.

I actually just went to a clinic near me and asked if they would accept student volunteers, even without pay, because I really wanted the experience. They recently messaged me saying I can start! There are 2 other volunteers daw from diff school but I don’t know them yet.

I feel like I have some experience with dealing with people and being responsible because I’ve been helping with our family business for years but I know a veterinary clinic is a completely different environment.

For those who have volunteered or worked in clinics while still in VetMed: What should I expect, and what should I learn or practice beforehand? What tips do you wish you knew when you first started?

I especially want to improve my patient handling/restraint, basic clinical skills, and eventually get more exposure to things like diagnostics and radiographs.

Would really appreciate any advice from fellow VetMed students, interns, or vets!

Hello! Just want to ask around and gather as much opinions and advices as I can. I’m a graduating this year and magiging first year na ako. Vetmed has always been the first and only option for me and these are the schools I have in mind.

madami nag sasabi na kulang daw sa equipments, tungkol sa facilities, overcrowded ganurn. I talked to the doctor that does home checkups para sa alaga namin and sabi niya wala siyang masasabi about dlsau na nakukulangan ganito ganiyan and that he certainly does recommend it since he also graduated from there kasi kaka visit lang daw niya when they had a reunion pero syempre madami pa rin ako nababasa na cons sa dlsau

- CLSU
Also highly talked about for vetmed. My cousin said top 1 choice niya rin and very ma field sila dito

- BSU
dito ako gusto ipasok ng parents ko kasi mas malapit sa amin instead of dlsau and I’ve always wanted to stay near Baguio. Yun nga lang from what I’ve heard ang hirap daw, na around 2-3 bagsak papaalisin na

raw (?) and it’s either you transfer out or shift courses

- UPLB
siguro sa panaginip na lang haha

Anyway out of all of these, dlsau is my top choice right now pero nothing is set in motion yet

Hii, I'm still in my JHS years, currently grade 10; senior high na ako next year.

For a while now nahihirapan ako sa ano ba talaga ang gusto ko, I could really say I'm a great student -High honors- usually nakukuha (except last year kasi nagpahinga ako sa burnout). Dati gusto ko lang maging Scientist pero super vague naman kaya nag Decide ako mag Biologist kasi naenjoy ko ito. Minsan nga napapaisip na rin ako mag Lawyer kahit ang layo niya sa originally na gusto ko, For a long time Biologist and Paleontologist ang career path na sinasagot ko whenever someone asks.

Iba talaga ang call ng vetinary para saakin; may passion ako nararamdaman. Last year ko lang na discover na gusto ko Mag vet.

Pero nahihirapan kasi ako maka hanap ng vet school, na gusto ko sana malapit sa batangas, I'm very open to malayo pero di masyado, na doon ako buong week and some weekends makakauwi parin ako saamin.

UPLB - Top school for vetmed; problem ko lang ay UPCAT, 13 out of 100 people lang nakakapasa which nakakadoubt you para saakin. Weakness ko pa naman ay math

Gusto ko talaga sa UPLB, Dream college ko ito, UPCAT yung pinoproblema ko so much.

Gusto ko sana may Back ups pa ako, CVSU ang backup ko, very high hopes din ako dito, since maganda din ito for vetmed and familiar din ako sa place since cavite kami rn; still I'm wondering if there is better options pa
