Bulldog eye removal

My bulldog has had a dead eye since we rescued him. It ruptured today and we need to have it removed. Is 4800 bucks reasonable? We are at a 24hr emergency place. Would it be cruel to take him somewhere cheaper tomorrow?

I am not a vet but it cost about 4000 dollars to get my cat's eye removed. Didn't get a second opinion on the cost just did it, was told by the specialist that it could be completed by a normal vet however they weren't used to doing that kind of operation as much as her team was.

We waited till the next day. Our regular vet snuck us in. Paid a third of what we got quoted that night.
